‘The Wall’: Corona reageert met commercial op Donald Trump’s Mexicaanse muur
Inmiddels is bekend dat Donald Trump de nieuwe president van de VS wordt, maar aan de vooravond van de verkiezingsdag bespotte Corona Trump nog met een nieuwe commercial, genaamd “The Wall”
De reclamevideo van het ’tequila flavoured beer’ label maakt Donald Trump’s plan voor de bouw van een betonnen barrière om Mexico en de Verenigde Staten te verdelen belachelijk.
De clip is een humoristische, doch inspirerende video met ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ acteur Diego Luna.
In de commercial draaft de filmster langs de denkbeeldige muur, waarbij trots en enthousiasme over zijn Mexicaanse ‘kinfolk’ opkomen. “Focus op jezelf en vecht voor wat je wilt”, belijdt Luna. “Deze clichés definiëren on niet.”
Corona vertelde HUH Magazine over de campagne het volgende:
This campaign is very different from our other applications of the brand. Everyone is familiar with the iconic Corona campaigns but this time we want to pass a clear message to all Mexicans, to break their mental frontiers and keep progressing. We hope the message we’re sharing resonates not only with generations of Mexicans but with people around the world.
